Dr. Mohammad S. Alam, Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering visited Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kuwait and UAE as a Fellows Traveling Lecturer of the Optical Society of America during December 18, 2001 through January 5, 2002. During this trip, Prof. Alam

Delivered an invited seminar on "Ultrafast Image Processing and Computing Architectures and Algorithms," Kuwait University, Kuwait on January 1, 2001.

Delivered an invited seminar on "Ultrafast Optoelectronic Image Processing and Computing Architectures and Algorithms" to a group of distinguished researchers from Quiad-I-Azam University, Hamdard University, Allama Iqbal University, SZAB University of Engineering and Technology, and GIK Institute of Technology in Islamabad, Pakistan on December 30, 2001.

Delivered an invited seminar on "Real Time Pattern Recognition and Tracking" at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka on December 26, 2001.

Prof. Alam initiated a collaborative NSF funded research project on "Real Time Pattern Recognition" with a group of researchers from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Kuwait University.
